KATHARINE HUNTER, CMT
Katharine
Hunter, BA, CMT, NCTMB, directs and
owns the AKS Massage School. Katharine
holds a National Certification in Therapeutic
Massage and Bodywork (NCTMB), Commonwealth
of Virginia certification, and belongs
to the National Capital Area Sports
Massage Team. Katharine also holds
a B.A. in Psychology, with numerous
courses in Education and years of experience
in public education.
WILLIAM
A. HOLMES, MS
William
M. Holmes is the AKS Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Mr. Holmes has 28 years experience managing information
systems for Federal Government contracts. He is a tax
specialist for H&R Block and supervises retail operations
for the Wolftrap Foundation for the Performing Arts.
He has been treasurer for Hunters Green Cluster Association
for 12 years. Mr. Holmes has a BS in Mathematics with
courses in accounting, and an MS in Information Systems.
Mr. Holmes set up the bookkeeping and accounting system
for AKS in 1999, monitors all financial transactions
of the school, and coordinates with the school’s
independent Certified Public Accountant.
CHARLES
A. THOMAS, CMT
Chuck Thomas is the school webmaster and general "techie".
Chuck is also approved by the National Certification
Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB)
as a continuing education Approved Provider. He graduated
from AKS in 2000 and, since 2001, he has been an Associate
Instructor and Supervisor at AKS, as well as a Certified
Professional Bowen Practitioner with the Bowen Therapy
Academy of Australia (BTAA). Chuck held past certifications
as a Personal Trainer (ACE, 2001) and as a Mat Pilates
Instructor (ISMA, 2002). He has pursued advanced studies
in connective tissue massage, medical massage, sports
massage, and osteopathic techniques. Chuck holds a B.S.
in Computer Science and worked full-time as a business
and IT consultant in the international, corporate world
for over 20 years. He provided business and IT consulting
services and also held a successful massage practice
in Herndon, VA, under the name Digital Rose, Inc., from
1998 until 2008.
