| PROFESSIONAL
MASSAGE |
| Certified
Massage Therapists that hold their practice at the AKS
Massage Clinic offer professional massage, bodywork, and
other health and fitness services in a professional, non-sexual
setting. You may wish to receive a professional massage
for a variety of reasons: |
| |
- Relaxation
and stress reduction
- Performance
improvement
- Pain management
- Injury
prevention
- General
fitness
|
| Massage is
a recognized, effective treatment for many health conditions.
Muscle tension and soft tissue disorders place strains
on the body, reduce healthy circulation, and disrupt normal
nerve function. |
| |

| YOUR
SESSION |
|
You will
receive the type of massage or bodywork mutually agreed
upon by you and your Massage Therapist. Session lengths
vary depending on the goals of the massage and the amount
of time that you reserve for your appointment. For a
1-hour massage, please allow a total time of about 75
to 90 minutes for your visit.
During your
first visit, you will be asked to complete a brief Health
Intake form, review the AKS Massage Clinic policies,
and, if needed, discuss payment policies with your therapist.
Your therapist may also want to hold a brief interview
and discuss session options that best meet your goals.
If your session
requires you to disrobe, then your Massage Therapist
will leave the room while you undress and lie on the
table, underneath a drape (top sheet). The therapist
uses effective draping techniques to ensure your comfort.
After your
session, the your therapist will leave the room so that
you may redress if needed.
