STUDENT MASSAGE

Our Student Therapists provide a quality massage, at a discounted price, to the public in a supportive, professional, non-sexual setting. Students working in the Public Clinic have been approved by their AKS Massage School Instructor for clinic work and have typically completed at least 5 months of a 10-month training program. Our students gain valuable practice and training in a professional setting during their internship at AKS Massage School.

Between appointments with your regular massage therapist, we hope you will take advantage of the opportunity to experience massage from our students!

YOUR SESSION

You will receive a full-body, Swedish-style massage. Please allow a total time of about 75 to 90 minutes for your visit.

After a brief Health Intake, the student will leave the room while you disrobe and lie on the table, underneath the drape (top sheet). The student will use draping techniques to ensure that you are covered modestly.

Assuming you arrive on time, the actual massage will last 1 full hour. Always notify the student therapist if at any time you need anything adjusted for your comfort (i.e. room temperature, less/more pressure, sensitivity, pillows/bolsters, music, etc.).

After your massage, the student will leave the room so that may redress. When finished, please see the Clinic Supervisor to pay and provide any feedback about our students and your experience at AKS!

CLINIC SUPERVISOR

As required by law, students are supervised, and there will be times when the Clinic Supervisor, who is a Certified Massage Therapist, visits your session. Such visits should not be viewed as an interruption to your session, but rather an opportunity for you to be the lucky recipient of "hands-on" training and feedback as our students continue to expand their skills.

One of our coordinators will return your call with the available schedule. Please note that it make take 1 to 2 days for the return call.

Note that we typically will not honor any requests for a particular student, since this represents a learning environment and each student therapist has unique skills and talents to offer. Working with a different student each time will also allow you to experience a wider range of possibilities.

Appointments with students must be reserved with a credit card number.
